Strengthen your understanding of early language, reading, phonics, learner development, and child-centered practice.
Building Strong Foundations for Early Reading and Writing
Discover how children move from oral language, listening and sound awareness toward writing, decoding and reading—and explore how Montessori Language and systematic synthetic phonics can work together to strengthen early literacy teaching.
This two-day face-to-face introductory course combines child-development principles, Montessori-informed language preparation, explicit phonics instruction and practical learning activities that teachers can connect to real classrooms, tutorial centers and early-learning programs.

You do not need previous Montessori training to begin. The Philippine IC is designed for educators and education builders looking for practical foundations they can use in real classrooms, tutorial centers, schools, and future learning programs.
Strengthen your understanding of early language, reading, phonics, learner development, and child-centered practice.
Gain practical exposure and begin building confidence before moving into deeper teacher development.
Explore approaches that can strengthen literacy instruction and eventually become part of a more organized learning program.
Understand the teaching foundations before reorganizing, expanding, or building a preschool or learning program.
The course connects Montessori-inspired language preparation with systematic synthetic phonics. Jolly Phonics is introduced as one practical multisensory application within a broader understanding of how children develop language, sound awareness, writing, decoding, and reading.
Explore independence, concentration, movement, order, observation, and the role of the adult.
Follow the developmental path from oral language and vocabulary toward sound awareness, writing and reading.
Explore explicit sound-symbol teaching, blending, segmenting and Jolly Phonics as tools for beginning readers.
Participate in selected demonstrations, guided activities, discussion and reflection rather than lecture alone.
Reflect on English, Filipino, multilingual learners and the realities of schools and tutorial centers.
Complete the IC on its own or continue into literacy, teacher-development, or school-program pathways.
Important: The IC is an introductory professional-development course. It does not by itself constitute AMI/AMS Montessori certification, an official Jolly Phonics trainer qualification, or a government teaching license.
SEELS Teachers Academy now welcomes participants to its regular Manila office and training space at EGI Taft Tower along Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila.
A permanent training center means you know where to find us before, during and after your course.

Long-term experience in educator development, professional learning and teacher preparation.
SEELS programs have supported educators across schools, preschools, language education and learning centers.
Training connects educational principles with real teaching, learner development and implementation.
The Philippine IC does not push everyone into the same program. Your next step depends on what you want to do.
Continue developing Montessori-informed practice, early-childhood teaching, young learner instruction or deeper educator formation.
Explore Teacher Development →Continue into specialized pathways involving phonics, Filipino literacy, reading and writing.
Explore Literacy Programs →Tutorial-center owners, small schools, coordinators and aspiring founders may continue into OMMPAC Training Series 01.
Explore OMMPAC Series 01 →The IC gives you the teaching foundations. Organizing and Managing Montessori Program in the Asian Context (OMMPAC) Training Series 01 helps you begin organizing those foundations into curriculum, schedules, assessment, teacher roles, parent communication, and implementation.
Your existing tutorial center, private school, preschool, proposed learning center, or future school can become the basis of your applied work.
The goal is not simply another certificate. The goal is to begin building a program you can actually run, explain to parents, implement with teachers, and improve over time.
