A teacher-formation story connected to children’s learning needs
SEELS Teachers Academy grew from years of training educators for language teaching, Montessori-inspired education, phonics, early literacy and classroom practice. Today, that experience is being organized to help the Philippines respond to the urgent need for stronger reading and writing foundations among children.

Digital Montessori Education
More than 15 years of Digital Montessori Education in Japan
The SEELS education pathway began with Digital Montessori Education, a practical teacher-formation course developed and offered in Japan for more than 15 years. The program introduced educators to Montessori-inspired principles, child observation, prepared learning environments, language development, classroom practice and digital learning support.
Through this pathway, SEELS helped train more than 1,000 educator graduates, many of whom entered teaching-related work as English Assistant Language Teachers in Japanese public and private schools.

Graduate Pathway
Training that helped educators enter teaching work in Japan
SEELS Teachers Academy is not only a concept page. It is built from years of actual educator formation, professional preparation and school-facing teaching pathways. Based on SEELS program tracking, many graduates moved into teaching-related work, including Assistant Language Teacher roles in Japan public and private schools.

SEELS shared its Digital Montessori Education experience through a breakout presentation titled Marrying Montessori Education and Society 5.0 at the 29th International Montessori Congress of AMI, held from August 2 to 5, 2023 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

The AMI Congress presentation helped position the SEELS experience within the broader conversation on Montessori-inspired education, digital learning, teacher formation and practical pathways for educators working across cultures.
This gives SEELS Teachers Academy a stronger foundation for working with Filipino teachers, parents, tutorial centers and school owners who need practical but principled education support.
Jolly Phonics and TESOL Foundation
Building literacy expertise from Montessori Language, Jolly Phonics and TESOL
For more than a decade, SEELS has promoted and supported teacher training in Jolly Phonics, alongside its work as a TESOL provider accredited by CPD Services UK. This experience was further strengthened by SEELS work in Montessori-inspired language education, early childhood teaching and practical literacy instruction.
From these combined pathways, SEELS developed stronger expertise in sound awareness, language development, phonics, lesson design, classroom communication and learner-centered literacy practice.

Tunog at Pantig
A Filipino reading and writing literacy foundations program
Building from Montessori Language Programs, Jolly Phonics and TESOL teaching practice, SEELS developed Tunog at Pantig, a Filipino reading and writing literacy foundations program for teachers, parents, tutorial centers and schools.

Pilot implementation:
Tunog at Pantig teacher training has been launched, with pilot
implementation ongoing through the SEELS Speak and Code Juku program
in Santa Barbara, Iloilo, and with selected tutorial centers connected
to the training pathway.
