The 24-Hour TEYL Philippine Variant prepares teachers, tutors, assistants and aspiring educators to support young learners through structured, child-friendly English teaching and beginning literacy practice.
It responds to multilingual realities, early literacy needs and the demand for teachers who can plan, demonstrate, reflect and continue developing through supervised practice.

Origin and Purpose
A Philippine adaptation—not a shortened TESOL qualification
The TEYL Philippine Variant draws upon the young learner teaching content within the broader SEELS 120-Hour TESOL offered through SEELS Teachers Academy in Japan.
That content was reorganised into a separate 24-hour course for Philippine multilingual, school, tutorial, home-based, community and online learning contexts.

Programme and certificate distinction
The 24-Hour TEYL Philippine Variant and the SEELS 120-Hour TESOL are separate programmes with separate enrolment, requirements, assessment and certificates. Completing TEYL does not automatically confer the 120-Hour TESOL qualification.

Introductory connection to Tunog at Pantig so participants can understand how Filipino reading and writing foundations may be supported.
Planning and Microteaching
Five-step lesson planning, teaching materials, demonstration teaching, feedback, reflection and portfolio evidence.

Jolly Classroom is applied as a teacher-led classroom resource where
access is available. Course completion does not confer official Jolly
trainer status or full Tunog at Pantig implementer or trainer status.

Practicum, observation and mentoring activities require an agreed schedule, supervision structure, safeguarding process, consent, confidentiality and written confirmation.
SEELS and SEELS PH ETD are not recruitment or job-placement agencies and do not guarantee employment. With a graduate’s consent, qualified graduates may be referred to selected partner institutions. Each institution independently manages its application, interview, demonstration, appointment and employment process.

Is the TEYL Philippine Variant the same as the 120-Hour TESOL?
No. The TEYL Philippine Variant draws upon young learner teaching content within the broader SEELS 120-Hour TESOL but is a separate course with separate enrolment, requirements, assessment and certificate.
Is the standalone TEYL Philippine Variant CPD certified?
The standalone 24-hour TEYL Philippine Variant should not be presented as carrying the certification status of the separate 120-hour TESOL. Each programme has its own scope, requirements and certificate.
What will participants produce during the course?
Participants develop guided workbook activities, a five-step TEYL lesson plan, teaching materials, microteaching evidence, reflection and portfolio documentation according to current course requirements.
Can schools and tutorial centres become training or practicum partners?
Yes. A school or tutorial centre may inquire about hosting scheduled training, supervised practice, observation, mentoring or participant nomination, subject to agreed scope, safeguarding, capacity and written confirmation.
Does completion guarantee employment?
No. SEELS and SEELS PH ETD are not recruitment or job-placement agencies and do not guarantee employment. With a graduate’s consent, qualified graduates may be referred to selected partner institutions when suitable opportunities are available.
Are Jolly Classroom access and resources automatically included?
Jolly Classroom access, subscriptions, physical materials and third-party resources are included only when expressly stated in the applicable batch announcement or enrolment agreement.
