Beginning Reading & Writing Alignment
Use English phonics carefully while respecting each language's own structure.
TEYL prepares the young-learner teacher broadly. It does not turn the course into a full standalone Jolly Phonics qualification or a Filipino Reading & Writing course.
English Reading & Writing
Connect oral language, sound awareness, phonics, blending, segmenting, reading, spelling and writing in a clear English sequence.
Guided Jolly Classroom Application
Use selected teacher-led Jolly Classroom features alongside movement, oral work, reading, writing and off-screen practice where access and permissions are available.
Philippine Language Alignment

Need deeper Jolly Phonics / Jolly Classroom onboarding? TEYL includes guided classroom application within young-learner teaching. Full onboarding and implementation support remain a separate pathway through JCAT.

Revision or reassessment may be required before certificate release.

This 24-hour course does not replace the complete 120-Hour TESOL. Guided Jolly Phonics / Jolly Classroom application does not confer official Jolly trainer status. Introductory awareness of Tunog at Pantig, Bite-Size Montessori or other SEELS pathways does not confer their separate implementer, trainer or diploma status.
Optional Extended Pathway
Add a 40–60 hour practicum or approved teaching capstone.
The 24-hour TEYL course stands on its own. Participants who want additional supervised teaching evidence may apply for an optional practicum or approved capstone pathway.
40–60 Hour Supervised Practicum
Qualified participants may complete supervised observation, lesson preparation, assisted teaching, direct teaching, mentor feedback and professional reflection through an approved partner setting.

TEYL Capstone Alternative

Placement clarification: practicum places are limited and are not automatically included with core-course enrolment. Placement depends on participant readiness, safeguarding requirements, learner schedules, parent or guardian consent, mentor availability, institutional capacity and written approval. Payment and Refund Policy

- Full payment confirms the participant's place in the selected 24-Hour TEYL Philippine Variant batch, subject to payment verification and available slots.
- Cancellation requests received at least seven days before the first session may be transferred once to another available batch or refunded, less applicable payment-processing charges.
- Payments are non-refundable within seven days of the starting date, after the course has begun, or in cases of non-attendance, except where applicable law or a written SEELS arrangement provides otherwise.
- If SEELS cancels the course, participants may transfer their payment to another available batch or request a full refund.
- Certificate release remains subject to completion of the academic requirements and settlement of applicable fees.

Do participants receive a Handbook and Workbook?
Yes. Registered participants receive the SEELS TEYL Participant Handbook and Workbook in PDF format for guided study, planning, course tasks, reflection and portfolio development. They are learning materials within the training package rather than a substitute for completing the course.
What is the SEELS Five-Step Lesson Framework?
The framework organises a complete lesson through Opening, New Material or Presentation, Guided Practice, Independent Practice or Production, and Closing. Participants prepare a full lesson plan and demonstrate their teaching during the course.
How does the course address classroom management?
Classroom management is integrated throughout the course through routines, instructions, transitions, participation, scaffolding, Total Physical Response, behaviour-support responses, pacing, differentiation, child-safe practice and the management decisions built into the Five-Step Lesson Plan.
Does the course include Jolly Phonics and Jolly Classroom?
The course introduces Jolly Phonics foundations and uses selected Jolly Classroom features as teacher-guided resources for beginning English reading and writing where access and permissions are available. Full Jolly Phonics and Jolly Classroom onboarding remains a separate SEELS pathway through JCAT, and any app trial, subscription or licence is governed by the current written enrolment offer.
How does Bite-Size Montessori relate to TEYL?
Bite-Size Montessori is a separate SEELS early-childhood foundation that may support younger children through oral language, movement, sensorial exploration, sound awareness and fine-motor preparation before more explicit reading and writing. It is not a mandatory prerequisite for TEYL.
What are the completion requirements?
